The Malaysian Solid State Science and Technology Society (MASS) was established in early 1991 and currently has over 830 members. MASS has shown its capability and maturity by organizing a variety of academic activities that not only benefit its members but also help to share knowledge in the fields of science and technology with the broader community.
Such contributions are very meaningful for our country, which aims to become a developed nation in the future. Today, progress in science and technology increasingly depends on contributions from many different fields. For example, the public may not realize that the television they watch every day is made possible through the efforts of electronic engineers, electrical engineers, physicists, chemists, and materials scientists. The same goes for the many advanced tools people use today.
The smart decision to create a multidisciplinary society made up of chemists, physicists, materials scientists, and engineers is highly respected. MASS members truly aim to share information and expertise, and if this effort continues to grow, they have the potential to produce outstanding results that can amaze both our society and the international community. Let us all hope that our society continues to grow successfully and perform excellently in line with the nation’s goals.
